Celery soup

  • 1 tea-cup barley
  • 2 pints stock (white)
  • grated carrot
  • chopped onion
  • 1 potato
  • ½ pint milk
  • 1 yolk of egg
  • 1 head celery
  • chopped parsley
  • pepper and salt

Cool strained soup before adding egg yolk.
