Sea Pie
Suet Pastry(this quantity makes ½ lb.)
Wipe meat and cut in pieces and lay in saucepan. Cover with tepid water. Add seasonings. Put on fire (with beans) and allow to come slowly to boil. Then add vegs. Allow to simmer slowly and, 40 mins. before dishing add a round of suet pastry ¼ inch thick, made as follows:- Mix dry ingredients lightly with fingers. Add cold water and mix with a knife to a firm dough. Turn out on floured board and roll into a round. |
