Steamed Mince

  • ½ lb. minced steak
  • 2 tablespoons fine oatmeal (level)
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • chopped onion
  • salt and pepper

If steak is very lean add 1 tablespoonful finely chopped suet (Hugon's Atora, best). mix with a little milk and press into a buttered basin. Cover greased paper and steam 3½ hours.

Improved by 2 tablespoons Yorkshire Relish added.


Liver Dumpling

Same recipe as Steamed Mince but use ½ lb. grated liver and put in 1½ tablespoons suet.
