Almond Fingers.

These are very good made with fine oatmeal instead of Quaker oats (1943)

  • ¼ lb. brown sugar
  • ¼ lb. margarine
  • ½ lb. Quaker oats or oatflakes
  • ½ teaspoonful bi-carb. of soda
  • 1 teaspoonful essence of almonds
  • 2 ozs. flour
  • pinch salt.

Cream margarine and sugar. Add oats, flour, soda, and essence and mix well. Spread on a greased tin and bake for 1 hour in a slow oven. Cut in fingers and allow to cool.
