Creamed Onions

Boil 3 or 4 onions in salted water. Strain. Put 1 oz. butter in frying pan. Add onions sliced. Fry till golden brown. Turn into pie dish. Add 2 or 3 rashers of bacon cut small. Cook in slow oven ¼ hour. Take out to cool. Beat up 1 egg with 1 tablespoon cream or milk, salt and pepper. Pour over onions . Put back in oven till egg is cooked.
